Commercial Cooler Troubleshooting Tips:

A commercial cooler is an essential part of any restaurant or commercial kitchen and is designed to withstand the rigors of daily use. When your cooler malfunctions, it can disrupt business operations. But no worries—this refrigeration troubleshooting guide will help you figure things out and get back to business in no time.
Cooler is too warm:
If your cooler is not cold enough, check for these issues.
Dirty Condenser Coil - Regular maintenance is critical to keeping your commercial cooler in top condition. If the condenser coil is dirty, it can adversely affect the unit's cooling efficiency. Regularly cleaning the condenser coils can prevent this issue and ensure smooth operations.
Cold Control -The cold control in your commercial fridge could be broken. Make sure the cold control probe is placed correctly inside the evaporator coil. Use a thermometer to check the temperature of the cold control. If the temperature still reads high, the thermostat might need to be replaced.
Gaskets -
Check the door gaskets to see if they are broken or cracked.
Check to make sure the door is closing correctly. Is there an item in the cooler that is too large and keeps the door from closing completely?
Check the door latch to make sure it is closing correctly. Check door hinges for broken seals.
Leaking Water:
Clogged drain—When the drain hose in your commercial cooler is clogged, water cannot drain out of the cooler and will pool on the cooler floor.
Evaporator Fan Motor:
Loud Noise - If you hear a loud sound when the door is opened, the evaporator fan blades could be hitting ice that has formed around the fan. Check to see if the blades are damaged or broken.
Not Cooling Correctly - If the bottom shelves of the cooler are colder than the top shelves, the fan motor is not running.
Location - The cooler could struggle to hold the correct temperature in direct sunlight or near hot appliances like ranges and warmers.
