Dryer Vent Cleaning

Have You Cleaned Your Dryer Vent Lately?

Dryers were responsible for an annual average of 15,970 fires n 2023

There is an increased likelihood that these fires are triggered by a buildup of lint in the dryer vent, which obstructs airflow and creates an explosion of heat that can lead to a fire.

Many dryer manufacturers recommend that dryer vents be cleaned once a year. This will help avoid fires and save you money since it will cause your dryer to operate more effectively. When garments are dried, a significant amount of lint is produced.  After completing each load of laundry, lint traps must be cleaned. The lint trap does not catch all the lint that is generated by your drier. A good amount of lint will make it into the inner workings of your dryer and become trapped Over time, the lint trapped in the dryer will dry out and fragment into tiny pieces. the fan inside the dryer will eventually blow the small pieces of lint into the vent where it will become trapped again.

Flexible dryer hoses, with their ridges and corners, are especially vulnerable to lint accumulation. Lint is highly flammable.  Both the amount of time it takes for your clothing to dry and the amount of money you spend on your power bill will increase as a result of this. Cleaning the vent and the lint trap on a yearly basis will improve airflow, enable your dryer to function more effectively, and reduce the amount of money you spend on your monthly power bill.
